Whether you’re dancing your cares away to your favourite pop song or crying it out in your bedroom to a ballad, music helps us to process our feelings, feel more confident, or sometimes it simply helps us to turn down the volume on the confusing world around us. 

For some, music is more than that; it is, literally, its own therapy. 

Nordoff & Robbins is the UK’s largest music therapy charity. They deliver music therapy to a range of clients all across the country and in 2025 reached over 15,500 people and held over 48,000 sessions. 

For those who - because of the barriers of illness, disability or social isolation – have few opportunities to express themselves and engage with others, music helps them to connect and communicate.
