We’d also like to take a moment to remember Kanya King CBE, whose recent passing will leave a huge hole right at the centre of the British music industry. 

In December 2024, we were privileged to present Kanya with our LIVEtime Achievement Award in recognition of her extraordinary contribution to the UK's live music and cultural landscape over three decades.

Kanya built MOBO from nothing. She remortgaged her home, refused to accept 'no', and created a stage that transformed British music forever. Her legacy lives on in every artist she elevated, every barrier she dismantled, and every door she left open behind her.
